Fully online courses are designed to be done by students on their own with little or no direct teacher engagement. They are an excellent supplement to any school looking to provide additional options to students or can work as an entire curriculum for a fully online school.
Your Agora has a few online course templates and we regularly add more. To create a course using one of our templates, select the template you wish to use when creating a course in the school panel. Other blended learning course templates can be adapted to be fully online or, if you wish you can create a course from scratch. Most online courses are done irregularly on a student’s own schedule, so it makes sense to set a fully online course as unscheduled. This will allow students to work at their own pace and skip around in the course. It will also allow you to invite students to the course at any time without any confusion.
If you are on the Enterprise plan, you can also set course signups and log ins directly from your own website. Contact our support staff for help setting this up. Once a course is ready, you will need to start it from the teacher or school panel. It will then be counted against your course limit until the course is stopped. You will not have to pay for any course until it is started.
Assignments can be reviewed at any time by a teacher or an administrator. Individual assignment results are best viewed from the teacher panel. Student feedback and other course statistics are accessible from the school panel.
Any assignments that contain audio or text short answers will also need to be graded by the teacher from the teacher panel. Any course can avoid this step by ensuring there are no short answer assignments added to the course.
